Hi fellow rodders! My name is David Roop and I am the 2008 club president. I have been a member of our club for over 15 years and own a 1972 Ford Mustang Mach I, 1963 Ford Galaxy Convertible and 1932 Plymouth. I am an active member, working our annual Jamboree since it's beginning, chairheading one of our annual car shows which benefits a local fire department, and attending and helping at all our club events as much as possible.
SDSRA is a non-profit organization and a portion of the show's proceeds are donated to a local charity. Last year, we presented donations to 3 different local charities at the show on Saturday night totaling $15,000. We are all proud that to date we have donated over $100,000 to charities.
Slick would like to report that during the 2006 Kick Off Party 45,000 clams, 3,739 hot dogs and 38 1/4 kegs of beer were served along with lots of wine. We served over 2,500 lunches on Saturday and we can't wait to do it again this year!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who came and hope, for those who haven't made our show yet, that you mark your calendar for our 19th Annual Jamboree on June 27, 28, 29, 2008 ... because without you there would be no show!
